The demo begins with authorized devices already connected. An unknown Linux computer is then introduced to the protected network. Its browser reaches the configured captive portal instead of the requested website, and ping tests to the gateway and another network resource fail. In the administrator view, the device count increases and the new endpoint appears with a restricted status. Its profile includes the available operating-system, address and identity information. An email alert tells the administrator that an unknown device has joined. The device remains restricted until it is authorized under the configured access policy.

Condensed from the original demonstration for readability. This video shows an earlier EasyNAC interface. Connector requirements and available checks depend on your current release and configuration.
